Enyimba win to maintain title dream
Enyimba maintained their top spot on the Nigeria Professional Football League table after a 2-0 win against Wikki Tourists in Aba on Sunday.
Captain Chinedu Udoji’s brace secured the win and they now have 58 points from 31 games while Wikki have 51 points from the same number of matches.
Udoji opened the scoring in the 43rd minute for his first-ever goal for the Peoples Elephant. He doubled the lead from the spot nine minutes later after Peter Onyekachi was brought down inside the six-yard box.
In Akure, Tunde Adeniji scored Sunshine Stars only goal in their 1-0 win against Abia Warriors.
The win has revived their faint title hope as they now have 53 points from 31 games and move to third place.
Adeniji goal – his 14th this season – came in the 58th minute.
