Kai Havertz scored in the 89th minute to seal a 1-0 win for Arsenal against Brentford in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at the Community Stadium on Saturday evening.

The German was a 79th-minute substitute for the Gunners and he made his cameo count with a strike that turned out to be the winning goal.

Havertz was in the right place at the right time to nod home Bukayo Saka’s cross in at the back post, with the goal sealing a win that returns Arsenal to the top of the league.

The North London side are on thirty points from 13 matches played so far, one ahead of Manchester City who were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool.

Chelsea were however brought back down to earth with a crushing 4-1 defeat at Newcastle United. Mauricio Pochettino’s side also finished the match with ten men following the dismissal of Reece James for two bookings on 73 minutes.

Nottingham Forest, without injured Taiwo Awoniyi, the Super Eagles of Nigeria striker who succumbed to a hamstring injury during the week, also lost 3-2 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
