Liverpool and Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at Anfield on Saturday.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Mohamed Salah scored in the first half for Arsenal and Liverpool respectively as the top-two EPL sides shared the points.

Arsenal went ahead four minutes into the encounter when defender Gabriel converted Martin Odegaard’s free-kick delivery.

The lead was however cancelled on 29 minutes through Salah’s solo effort. The Egyptian striker cut inside a defender on the edge of the area before unleashing a pile driver into the roof of the net.

Liverpool continued to dominate proceedings after the interval and went close on a couple of occasions.

Joe Gomez’s curler shaved the base of the post, while Trent Alexander-Arnold hit the crossbar following a blistering counterattack.

Arsenal retained their top spot with 40 points from 18 matches, one ahead of second-placed Liverpool.
