Manchester United conceded four second-half goals to suffer a 4-0 drubbing at Brentford in the English Premier League (EPL) encounter on Saturday.

The Red Devils, parading Cristiano Ronaldo from the start, put on another listless display as they received a pummeling at Brentford to lose their second game of the season.

It is the first time Manchester United would lose their opening two league games in 20 years. They have also lost seven consecutive away matches for the first time in 86 years.

All four goals, scored in a space of 25 minutes, started with a David De Gea error on 10 minutes that allowed Josh Dasilva’s shot to squirm under him into the net. It went downhill for Erik Ten Hag’s men thereon and De Gea, their Spanish goalkeeper, was at again fault as his poor pass led to Mathia Jensen making it 2-0.

Ben Mee bundled in following a corner kick to make it 3-0 while Bryan Mbueno completed the rout on 35 minutes with a well-placed shot.

The abject visitors never looked like getting any consolation as the final whistle confirmed their rock-bottom 20th position on the EPL log with no point after two matches — the first time in 30 years.

Elsewhere, Gabriel Jesus scored a first half brace and provide two assists as Arsenal scored twice in each half to overcome Leicester City 4-2 in a six-goal thriller that ensured the Gunners made it two out of two in the EPL.
