Manchester United and Chelsea both came from a goal down to record comfortable victories in their English Premier League (EPL) matches on Saturday.

While United won 3-1 at Everton, thanks to Bruno Fernandes’ double and Edison Cavani’s first goal for the club, Chelsea defeated winless Sheffield United 4-1, courtesy goals from four different players.

The Red Devils, who were defeated during Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League match in Turkey, went behind on 19 minutes when Bernard, a Brazilian winger, converted Dominc Calvert-Lewin’s knockdown to put more pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Fernandes, Portuguese attacking midfielder, eased that pressure five minutes later with a header from Luke Shaw’s cross.

The 26-year-old thereafter made it 2-1 after 32 minutes when his mishit cross dropped into the top corner for his sixth goal of the season.

Manchester United finished off the Toffees in the dying minutes of the match after Cavani scored the third goal that consigned Everton to third successive league defeat.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea moved up to third on the EPL log after scoring two goals in each half to consign Sheffield United to the bottom of the table.

After David McGoldrick had put the Blades ahead, Tammy Abraham equalised with a scuffed half-volley before Ben Chilwell made it 2-1 with a touch at the back post for Chelsea to lead at the interval.

Thiago Silva scored a header on 77 minutes off Hakim Ziyech’s second assist before Timo Werner added the fourth goal three minutes later to gift Chelsea the win.
