Taiwo Awoniyi, Super Eagles striker, scored both goals as Nottingham Forest earned a point at Chelsea, holding their hosts to a 2-2 draw in the English Premier League (EPL) encounter at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The bulky striker was on hand to supply headers, one in each half, as Forest continue their efforts at escaping relegation. Raheem Sterling scored both goals for the Blues.
Awoniyi gave Forest the lead on 12 minutes when he rose highest between two defenders and an onrushing Edouard Mendy, Chelsea goalkeeper, to head home a Renan Lodl cross for a 1-0 lead at the interval.
Frank Lampard’s side improved in the second period and equalised in the 51st minute through Sterling’s deflected shot. The England international put Chelsea ahead seven minutes later when he curled an unstoppable strike beyond Keylor Navas for 2-1.

Awoniyi however restored parity four minutes later, converting another header that eventually proved enough to earn Nottingham Forest a point at full-time.
Nottingham Forest improved to 34 points from 36 matches and are three points away from the relegation zone, while Chelsea remain in the mid-table wilderness of 11th position with 43 points from 35 matches.
Southampton became the first team to suffer relegation from the EPL this season following a 2-0 loss at home to Fulham.
