Nottingham Forest scored an 82nd-minute winner to see off the challenge of Manchester United in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at the City Ground on Saturday evening.

Morgan Gibbs-White’s strike put Erik ten Hag’s side to the sword despite Marcus Rashford’s prior leveller. Nicolas Dominguez had put Forest in front earlier, with all three goals coming in the second half.

Dominguez swept in Gonzalo Montiel’s pass into the net on 61 minutes but Rashford capitalised on poor goalkeeping from Michael Turner to slot in from 12 yards on 78 minutes.

It took Forest only four minutes to regain the lead; Gibbs-White curled the ball beyond Andre Onana into the far corner to seal Nottingham Forest’s first EPL victory over United in 29 years.

The win is Forest’s second in three matches since Nuno Espirito Santo took over as the gaffer.

For Manchester United, it is their 14th defeat of the season in all competitions as they remain seventh with 31 points from 20 matches.

Elsewhere, Manchester City scored once in each half to secure a 2-0 win over Sheffield United at the Etihad Stadium while Chelsea survived a late onslaught to take a precious 3-2 victory over Luton Town.
