EPL: Salah scores 250th Liverpool goal to end losing run against Aston Villa

Mohamed Salah scored his 250th goal for Liverpool as they got back to winning ways

Mohamed Salah scored his 250th goal as a Liverpool player in the club’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday night.

The Egyptian king rescued his flailing club from further defeat in the English Premier League (EPL) encounter, as the Reds ended a four-game losing streak in the league. Ryan Gravenberch scored the clincher.

Salah has been a shadow of himself and endured an uncharacteristic poor start to the season, but the 33-year-old proved the difference against a Villa side that dominated, hit the bar twice, and were unlucky to lose.

Morgan Rogers and Matty Cash hit the post for the visitors, while Hugo Ekitike saw a goal ruled out for offside before Salah pounced.

‎He was gifted the ball by goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, and the forward finished with aplomb for 1-0 at the break.

Salah became the third player to hit the 250 mark, joining Ian Rush and Roger Hint on the exclusive list.

‎Gravenberch sealed Liverpool’s much-needed victory with a well-taken strike. The midfielder slammed the Gakpo’s deflected header beyond Martinez on 58 minutes.
