Ese Brume has qualified for the women’s long jump final at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.

The 27-year-old Nigerian leapt a distance of 6.72 metres to progress as one of the best performers in Group A.

The qualification earned Brume her third consecutive spot in the women’s long jump final at the championships.

She won bronze in the 2019 edition in Doha, Qatar and earned a silver medal in Oregon, US in 2022.

Brume, one of Nigeria’s brightest hopes for a medal in Budapest, is billed to line up for the long jump final on Sunday at 4pm.
