Ex-Kebbi senator quits PDP, says party under control of APC politicians

Isa Galaudu

Isa Galaudu, former senator representing Kebbi north, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Galaudu, who was the party’s governorship candidate in the 2019 election, announced his resignation in a letter dated August 20 and addressed to Muhammadu Aliyu Danbuga, PDP ward chairman in Augie north.

The former chief of staff to the senate president said his resignation took immediate effect.

He added that the decision was necessary in view of recent developments in the PDP and the consequences of what he described as its “obliteration”.

“I write to inform you of my resignation with immediate effect as a member of the PDP,” he said.

“It’s obvious that the PDP is being controlled by politicians of the national ruling party.”

Galaudu represented Kebbi north at the senate from 2011 to 2015. He also served as a board member of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto.
