Moses Ayom
Moses Ayom, a former presidential hopeful in the All Progressives Congress (APC), says the Abuja smart city project by Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), will enhance the economy and improve the quality of life.
The minister, currently in Dubai for the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum, unveiled the project to potential investors.
In a statement on Thursday, Ayom, the chief executive officer of the Hongye Group, said the project will address traffic congestion and housing deficit in the nation’s capital.
The politician said the project will inch Nigeria towards its climate change goals.

“The commitment being shown by President Tinubu and Minister Wike gives me renewed hope that our dream of building Africa’s largest Green Smart City in Ketti will soon be a reality,” he said.
“With the opening of new districts and renewed infrastructural expansion, issues of traffic congestion, housing deficit and environmental decay will soon be a thing of the past.
“When completed, Ketti will rival global smart cities like Dubai, Shenzhen, and Milton Keynes. It will create jobs, attract technology-driven enterprises, and drastically reduce housing costs through innovative public-private partnerships.

“With what is happening in Abuja today, we are on course to redefine African urban living — smart, green, and inclusive.”
The Kabusa-Ketti axis of the FCT, located in the suburbs, is being primed for the siting of the smart city.
