Laolu Akande, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, says his principal will meet with a cross-section of public and civil servants to drive the reforms intended in the executive orders signed on Thursday.

In a statement on Sunday, Akande said Osinbajo wants to hear directly from the civil servants since they would be responsible for the implementation of the orders.

He explained that the effective implementation of the orders was critical for the overall prosperity of the country.

The spokesman said the interactive forum would be broadcast live by a number of TV stations.

“These are the people who will be directly responsible for the attainment of the objectives of the executive orders, so the Ag. President wants an opportunity to talk with them directly and also hear from them in person,” the statement read.

He said that a presidential report on the Social Investment Programmes (SIP) of the Buhari administration would be held at Aso Rock to mark the second year of the government.

“Here at this national event, we shall be updating Nigerians on the progress so far attained, how we are addressing some challenges and how President Buhari’s Social Investment Programmes would be significantly expanded going forward,” the spokesman said.
