Experts call for AI adoption to improve Nigeria’s legal system

Technology experts and legal practitioners in Nigeria have expressed the need to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance access to justice and improve efficiency in the country’s legal system.

The call was made during the Case Radar Headshot Event held on May 10 at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution in Abuja.

The gathering, which attracted over 110 young professionals, focused on the future of legal practice in Africa and the transformative role of AI.

Agbo Obinnaya, chief executive officer of Case Radar AI, a legal-tech platform, advocated for a future where justice and opportunity are accessible to all, not just the privileged.

“We’re building a world where everyone can connect with lawyers, access all kinds of legal documents, and know their rights and the law. That’s Case Radar,” he said.

Obinnaya said the event was designed to give young professionals a strong visual identity while also equipping them with knowledge on career growth, personal branding, and legal innovation.

Nafisat Busari, a final-year law student at the University of Abuja, said the event broadened her understanding of strategic self-positioning and authenticity.

“From the event, I learnt personal branding is not about posting everything, it’s about giving valuable content out – contents that fit your profile. Positioning oneself as a person of value, being original without lies and the ability to communicate effectively,” Busari said.

Alhassan Aisha, a recent graduate of the Nigerian Law School, said the event helped her better understand the finer aspects of career growth, including CV presentation and pitching.

She said it also reinforced the importance of embracing AI in everyday work life and urged young professionals to adapt and leverage it.
