Some academics have urged Hillary Clinton, democratic nominee, to contest the US presidential election results which Donald Trump, the republican won.

Clinton who has over two million popular vote, was not able to get the required 270 electoral college needed to win the election.

Trump was able to get 290 Electoral College votes against Clinton, who had 232.

The academics who held a meeting with John Podesta, chairman of the Clinton campaign, said from their findings the democratic nominee may have been denied as much as 30,000 votes in the swing states.

They argued that an investigation of the election results is needed since the Russian government has been accused to hacking into the Democratic National Committee.

Statistics say Trump was able to get over 270 Electoral College votes because Michigan’s 16 votes were not apportioned as the contest there is still too close to call.

Apart from them, the sister of Huma Abedin, one of Clinton’s top aide, have urged people to ask the Department of Justice for an official investigation.
