Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, on Thursday went to the Ado-Ekiti branch of the Zenith bank to make a withdrawal of N5m from his “frozen” account.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had frozen the account, claiming that the money in it was a proceed of crime.
But on Monday, a federal high court in the state ordered the immediate de-freezing of the account, declaring the action of the EFCC as unconstitutional and illegal.

However, the anti-graft agency said it would appeal against the judgment of the court.
“Governor Fayose, who made a withdrawal of N5 million in cash, thanked Nigerians for standing with him and against the recklessness of the EFCC. Detiuls later,” Lere Olayinka, his media aide, wrote on Facebook.
