Some staff of Access Bank left Herbert Wigwe, the group managing director, stranded on Friday.

In what looked like a break from the stress of work, Wigwe and other staff members participated in the musical chairs game.

WHAT IS THE MUSICAL CHAIRS GAME?

  • An old favourite for most kids, participants in the game dance to the tune of music around chairs usually arranged in a circle and one short of their number. Once the music stops, they all struggle to sit in the nearest chair and whoever is left standing leaves. That way, the circle continues till the winner emerges.

In the Friday game, there were four staff members — two ladies and two men, including Wigwe — participating.

They danced joyously to Korede Bello’s Godwin and to the amusement of other workers.

At first, Wigwe was not going to take chances as he hurriedly took a seat.

His ‘pro-activeness’, however, could not save the day for him when seconds after, the music came to an abrupt ending, leaving each of the dancers to scamper for the nearest chair.

In split second, they all beat Wigwe to the draw, with no seat left for the bank’s number one man.

The video of the scene, which Wigwe posted on his Twitter handle, did not show what transpired afterwards but there is the likelihood that the workers all got away with such show of “disrespect” because, like he put it, they were all “having fun”.
