EXTRA: I stole noodles for my girlfriends but they never visited me in prison, man laments

Usama Abdullahi, a 24-year-old convict, says he stole packs of noodles for his three girlfriends, but none of them visited him in prison.

According to Daily Trust, Abdullahi spoke before the Adamawa state jail delivery committee, a special mobile court constituted to review certain cases with a view to decongesting correctional centres.

The convict, who worked as a car wash employee in Shelleng LGA of the state, said he ran away to another town after the offence before his eventual arrest.

He was then sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for the theft at Shelleng Satellite Custodial Facility.

“I stole Indomie and distributed it to my three girlfriends,” he said.

“Since I arrived at the facility, none of them paid me a visit. I promise to end the relationship with them once I gain my freedom.”

In response to his plea, Hafsat Abdulrahman, chairperson of the committee, reviewed Abdullahi’s jail term and converted it to community service.
