Lamidi Apapa, factional chairman of the Labour Party (LP), retuned to the presidential election petition tribunal on Friday.

Apapa was taken into protective custody on Wednesday after he was mobbed by party supporters in court.

The factional chairman was about to address journalists when he was harassed.

Chants of “ole”, which translates to “thief” in Yoruba, rented the air as Apapa was dragged and pushed out of the court. At some point, someone in the crowd removed his cap and fled.

Apapa had reacted angrily over the removal of his cap, while saying he will continue to show up at the tribunal.
