One All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination form can buy the forms of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at all levels.
An analysis done by TheCable revealed the high margin between the prices put out by both parties.
While the APC pegged its presidential nomination form at N45 million, that of the PDP goes for N12 million—a difference of 33 million.
This means that the price of one of APC presidential form can purchase three of PDP’s — with a change of N9 million.
|Party||Presidential||Governorship||Senate||House of Representatives||State House of Assembly|
|APC||N45 million||N22.5 million||N7 million||N3.8 million||N850, 000|
|PDP||N12 million||N6 million||N3.5 million||N1 million||N600, 000|
A further look at the price margin reveals that all forms for all the positions; presidential, governorship, senate, house of representatives, state house of assembly, for the PDP can be bought with the price of the presidential nomination form of the APC.
A sum of a form for each of the positions for the PDP amounts to N23.6m, leaving a balance of N21.4m compared to APC’s 45m presidential form.
While the APC announced a 50 percent discount for female and physically challenged aspirants for all positions, the PDP said all female aspirants are exempted from payment for purchase of forms for all offices except national and ad-hoc delegate categories.
On Tuesday, the Buhari youth Organisation (BYO) called on the APC to review downward, the price of the nomination and expression of interest fees.
The group, in a statement issued by Abdulwaheed Odunuga and Adekunle Aderibigbe, its state coordinator and general secretary respectively, said the fees being demanded by the ruling party is a “disenfranchisement weapon” for genuine aspirants, especially youths.
