EXTRA: Police arrest three men for ‘stealing sheep’ in Jigawa

The police command in Jigawa have arrested three suspected thieves for stealing a sheep in Baskwar village of Babura LGA of the state.

According to Lawan Adam, the spokesperson of the command, one Mustapha Dahiru had reported to a police station on November 5 that his sheep was stolen by some unknown persons.

Following the report, the operatives from the command arrested Isah Musa (20), Sa’idu Bello (21) and  Ibrahim Muhammad (18).

Adam said the suspects were taken to the divisional crime branch (DCB) for investigation where they confessed to having stolen the sheep.

In another development, operatives from Kaugama divisional police headquarters arrested one Jabir Ali (21) with three sacks of vandalised cable wires.

The police spokesperson said the suspect confessed to having vandalised the electric cable which belong to Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO).

Tasiu Saidu, a 33-year-old man, was also arrested on November 6 with bundles of armoured cable suspected to be KEDCO’s property along Basirka to Darazo road.
