Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on the affirmation of his election by the supreme court.

Tompolo is the chairperson of Tanita Security Services Nigeria Limited, an oil pipeline surveillance firm marooned in the creeks, and straddling the crude oil-producing states.

In a unanimous verdict on Thursday, the seven-member panel of the apex court dismissed the petitions of Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election.

Felicitating the president on his win, Tompolo put out congratulatory messages on the front pages of at least six national dailies.

In the statement, Tompolo wished the president success in his task of rebuilding the nation, adding that his track record in leadership and economic development would come in handy in the discharge of his duties.

The former militant assured Tinubu that he will continue to do his best in “protecting the nation’s crude oil assets for optimum production” for the good of all Nigerians.

In August, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited awarded a N48 billion annual pipeline surveillance contract to Tompolo’s Tanita.

The house of representatives had said the partnership between the NNPC Limited and Tanita will “help in overcoming various challenges of oil theft in the industry, especially in the Niger Delta region”.
