Mumini Alao
Babatunde Fashola, former minister of works and housing, will attend the upcoming book launch of Mumini Alao, the veteran Nigerian sports journalist.
Fashola is the guest speaker at the event, set to take place on August 10 at the Tayo Aderinoku Hall of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in Akoka.
The book is an autobiography and a celebration of Alao’s life as a journalist for over three decades in Nigeria.
The launch will also include a public lecture around the topic ‘Rethinking the current football business model in Nigeria as a catalyst for sports development’.

Shehu Dikko, chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), will be the chair of the occasion, while Kabiru Amadu, chairman of house committee on sports, will be the co-launcher.
Ibrahim Gusau, the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), will also join the event as a special guest.
Alao is a former group managing director and now executive consultant at Complete Communications Limited, publishers of Complete Sports newspapers.

He has a BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in mass communication from the UNILAG. He is a member of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). He is also an Associate Member of the Advertising Practitioners Association of Nigeria (APCON).
In 2023, Alao was also inducted into the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (CiArb).
