Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti, says south-east governors are in the best position to resolve the clamour for Biafra being championed by the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The Ekiti governor said it was northern governors who intervened when Arewa youth groups issued a quit notice to the Igbo, hence, same should be replicated in the south-east region.

Fayose also criticised the situation where Nigerians “now celebrate” news of President Muhammadu Buhari presiding over FEC meeting.

“Sign that all is not well is a situation where a president presides over the FEC meeting and it becomes a breaking news,” Fayose tweeted in the wee hours of Thursday.

“Funny, we now celebrate news of our President presiding over FEC meeting as a great achievement?

“For whatever reasons, the FG should have allowed the south-east governors to interface with Kanu and resolve issues instead of this show of force

“If northern governors were allowed to resolve the Arewa youths threat that that Igbo should leave the north, why not allow south-governors to resolve Kanu’s?”
