Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to allow politicians use the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as an instrument of intimidation.

Fayose, who was speaking on Wednesday while administering oaths on 10 new commissioners in the state, said politicians are capable of destroying the noble objectives of the anti graft agency.

“I want to advise President Buhari not to allow politicians to hijack the graft war because if our motive is to fight personality instead of the corrupt people, then you will destroy institutions and rubbish the whole thing,” he said.

“The war should not be partisan or be fought in the face of vendetta or act of vindictiveness.”

Fayose said he would consider illiterates in the state while making further appointments.

“The illiterates will get 25 percent because it is from them we get the votes,” he said.

“Though they may not have the certificates, but there is nothing wrong with us keeping them in one board for them to have recognition.

“If no leader rises up to promote these children of the poor, who will promote them? I am here for children of the poor, if you don’t like it, wait for your time.”
