David Mark, former senate president and winner of Benue south rerun election, says his actions will be guided by the fear of God.

Speaking on Monday when received his certificate of return at Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja, Mark thanked his people for supporting him.

“I will continue to serve honestly with all my heart. My actions will be guided always with the fear of God,” he said.

“My election is unique. I hold this certificate in trust and for service to my people and Nigerians alike. I will serve honestly and with the fear of God.”

The appeal court sitting in Makurdi, Benue state capital, annulled the victory of Mark in the March 28 election, resulting to the rerun election where he defeated Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mark is one of the longest serving senators in the country.
