Jose Mourinho
Fenerbahce have “parted ways” with Jose Mourinho as the club’s manager.
The club announced the Portuguese manager’s departure in a statement on Friday.
Mourinho’s exit comes on the heels of the club missing out on the preliminary round of the UEFA Champions League (UCL).
Fenerbahce lost 1-0 on aggregate to Benfica in the UCL qualifying round on Wednesday.

Mourinho’s departure marks the end of his 14-month stay at the club, where he led them to second place last season.
Fenerbahce announced the departure of the self-styled “special one” via a terse statement on the club’s website, wishing the former Chelsea manager and legend well in the future.
The exit of the 62-year-old followed hours after Besiktas, another Turkish club, also sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The two managers were both former handlers of Manchester United.

Mourinho joined Fenerbahce in June 2024 and finished second to Galatasaray in the Super Lig last season. He averaged 2.02 points per game in his short stint with the club. He did not win any trophies with the club.
Fenerbahce was the 10th club Mourinho had managed as a coach. His spell in Turkey was pockmarked with controversies.
In February, Galatasaray accused him of making “racist statements” about some of the club’s staff and players.
Mourinho denied the allegations and sued Galatasaray for damages to his character.
