The ministry of aviation and aerospace development has announced the dismissal of all heads of aviation agencies from their offices.

Odutayo Oluseyi, the spokesperson for Festus Keyamo, minister of aviation and aerospace development, disclosed their dismissal in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, the government directed the affected directors to hand over to the most senior officers in their various directorates.

The development comes less than 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu sacked Kabir Mohammed as the managing director (MD) of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) as well as Tayib Odunowo as the MD of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).

The directors of the affected agencies include the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Nigeria Metrological Agency, Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau (NSIB).

Also, all directors were instructed to ensure strict compliance.

The sack of the heads of aviation agencies and their directors followed the threat made by Festus Keyamo, minister of aviation and aerospace, in November.

Keyamo said he would sack the chief executive officers (CEOs) of agencies under his ministry who fail to perform and deliver on their tasks.
