The federal government plans to build an innovation hub in Katsina.
According to a statement on Monday, Bosun Tijani, minister of communication and digital economy, announced the plan during the visit of Dikko Umar Radda, Katsina state governor, to his office.
“We discussed ways of strengthening ongoing collaboration between my Ministry and the State Government to accelerate digital transformation,” the minister said.
According to Tijani, Katsina has been advancing its digital agenda, which aligns with the ministry’s aim to create a “resilient digital economy” across all states.

“During our conversation, the Governor shared the remarkable strides Katsina has made in creating a digitally enabled environment — from implementing a free Right of Way (RoW) policy to enacting a state digital policy law,” he said.
The minister also noted that the Katsina state government plans to extend fibre connectivity to all local government areas and expressed interest in partnering through the ministry’s Broadband Alliance initiative.
In addition, the ministry aims to enhance the state’s digital ecosystem through major national initiatives, such as the three million technical talents (3MTT) programme.

In October 2023, the federal government launched the 3MTT programme to empower Nigerians with technology skills.
The federal government intends to train three million technical talents by 2025 through the programme.
