FIFA 209 member associations will decide on Friday whether to give Sepp Blatter a fifth term as president.

Blatter, who has been at the helm of football governing body since 1998, is being challenged for the presidency by 39-year-old Jordanian Prince Ali bin al-Hussein.

But another challenge was given the delegates to test, not their knowledge of the game as they were experts in the field, but the e-voting system to be used for the election.

FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke gave a test question to answer from their chairs.

The question posed was simple enough: Who are the current world champions?

Given that FIFA organised the tournament, it’s a question you’d hope the administrators could answer.

But it’s either 5 percent of the room couldn’t work the button or that they really didn’t know.

World football’s governing body continues to reel from “a storm” of damaging corruption allegations, but this latest “storm” might not make you feel hugely confident that the game is in safe hands.
