The FIFA World Cup trophy will arrive in Nigeria on Wednesday.

The trophy will touch down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, aboard a chartered flight at 11am.

According to a statement made available to TheCable by the NFF media department, Solomon Dalung, minister of youth and sports, Amaju Pinnick, NFF president, are among those who will have a first view of the trophy.

After a press conference during which the trophy will be on display at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, it will be taken to the presidential villa.

On Thursday, a consumer viewing of the trophy will take place at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja.

Subsequently, the trophy will be flown to Lagos on Friday, where it will be received by Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagos state governor, and members of his cabinet.

A consumer viewing of the trophy will take place on Saturday at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

The trophy will go on a tour of 91 cities in 51 countries across six continents before the World Cup commences.

This is the fourth global tour of the FIFA World Cup trophy.
