You already know the story – the story of the young lady who relocated from Osun state to sell bread on the streets on Lagos but instead struck gold after popular photographer, TY Bello, stumbled on her pictures.
Olajumoke Orisaguna. Young, from a humble background, illiterate and therefore unable to speak English – in fact only able to speak a smattering of pidgin. Within one week, all those negative adjectives have quickly been replaced by positives: pretty, lucky, overnight celebrity, rich. Well, the story gets even better!
Courtesy of Sujimoto Construction Limited, Olajumoke will be studying Proficiency in English Grammar and Communication, and One-on-One Total Personality Development at Poise Graduate Finishing Academy.
The same sponsor has also offered her a “furnished luxury apartment in Lagos” in what the company says is part of its corporate social responsibility “this Valentine’s season”.
The presentation was a refreshing experience for Olajumoke and her husband, who was making a public appearance for the first time since news of the turnaround broke.
