Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme on Friday announced his retirement from football.

Following his announcement, tributes have been pouring in for the former Wolverhampton Wanderers shot-stopper, particularly from footballers lovers across the world and his teammates.

Ikeme was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in July 2017, and he recently announced that he was in remission.

Jeff Shi, Wolves executive chairman, described Ikeme as a brother and an integral part of the club.
