There was a fire outbreak at one of the studios inside the headquarters of the African Independent Television (AIT) in Alagbado, Lagos, on Monday.

A staffer of Daar Communications Plc, owners of Africa Independent Television and Raypower FM station, who does not want to be named, said the incident occurred around 9am.

“It was a minor incident but it has been put under control,” he said.

AIT also confirmed the outbreak, saying there was no causality.

“Fire at AIT’s Lagos studio has been put out by men of the fire service, no casualty recorded and the damage is being assessed,” read a message on AIT’s Twitter account.
