4 cows, 3 goats burnt as fire razes building within national theatre

A fire incident has been recorded in a building within the National Arts Theatre in Iganmu area of Lagos state.

According to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the fire outbreak was caused by a gas cylinder that exploded.

“The said property belongs to the national council of arts and culture located opposite artists’ village which cause is yet unknown with no casualty involved,” the agency said.

“Property included; 4 cows and 3 goats recovered suspected dead. Firefighting moved into dampening down to bring it to conclusion with danger completely averted.”

On December 23, a fire incident was recorded in a market at 2nd Junction, Governor’s Road Council Bus Stop in Ikotun area of the state.

The incident was triggered by a gas cylinder leakage, with seven shops destroyed in the inferno.

On December 17, fire broke out at a Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) power substation in Maryland area of the state.
