Five COVID-19 patients discharged in Ondo
Five more patients have been discharged after testing negative for COVID-19 in Ondo.
They were discharged from the Ondo state Infectious Disease Hospital on Tuesday.
This brings to 11, the total number of recoveries recorded in the state.
A statement issued by Donald Ojogo, the state commissioner for information and orientation, confirmed the development.
“This is to announce that five patients of the dreaded coronavirus have been treated and discharged,” the statement read.
“Against this backdrop, only four active cases are currently being monitored in accordance with prescribed globally-accepted protocols at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH).”
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, as of May 11, 2020, Ondo had 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Ondo confirmed its first COVID-19 death on Monday.
