The Anambra police command says security operatives have killed five gunmen following an attack in Isuofia, Aguata LGA of the state.

Tochukwu Ikenga, Anambra police spokesperson, in a statement on Saturday, said the gunmen came in a Lexus 470 jeep and attacked the checkpoint on Saturday morning.

Aguata is the hometown of Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra.

“The situation is under control after five of the criminal elements were neutralised and police/military patrols have been intensified in the area,” NAN quoted Ikenga as saying.
