Floyd Mayweather, retired American boxer, defeated his Japanese opponent, Tenshin Nasukawa, by technical knockout in an exhibition bout held in Tokyo on Monday.

Mayweather, 41, is arguably the best pound-for-pound boxer of all time.

He floored his undefeated 20-year-old kickboxer opponent three times before the Japanese’s team threw in the towel.

The three-minute per round three-round contest lasted only 140 seconds and the American earned $9m for his part in the exhibition bout.

After the contest which was played under mostly boxing rules, Mayweather maintained that he is “still retired and that the match-up was all about entertainment”.

Mayweather previously fought and defeated kickboxer, Conor McGregor, in 2017 in a highly controversial encounter, and remains unbeaten in his professional boxing career.
