Football agents under the aegis of Football Intermediaries Association of Nigeria have concluded plans to host their maiden National Football Summit aimed at sensitising stakeholders of football in the country.

Event coordinator, Michael Shodeke, told TheCable in Lagos on Tuesday that the summit, scheduled for Four Point Hotel on Victoria Island on April 5, would explore possibilities that would put Nigeria football firmly on the international stage.

“The stakeholders expected at the gathering will comprise sports lawyers, journalists, administrators and members of the European Football Agents Associations,” Shodeke said.

“Officials of both Norway and Denmark embassies are also expected as we aim to involve international agencies and individuals to give the summit the broad outlook it deserves,” the coordinator added.

On what the dwindling fortune of football in Nigeria stands to benefit from the summit, Shodeke said: “Our association believes there is no better time for this summit to hold because we are assured that Nigeria football will not remain the same after.”

TheCable learnt that accreditation and red carpet for the one-day event with the theme ‘Best international practices in approaching football business’ would hold between 8am and 9am at the venue.
