“Ride or die; I’ll stand by you no matter what”

For better for worse; in sickness and in health.

I’ll hold your hand and walk through fire with you.

I’ll be with you until the sun goes down.

Huge, vague promises they appear to be but for those who say and mean them, they are a creed, a mantra of some sort.

It doesn’t matter if we are just friends, family, work/business colleagues or lovers, loyalty builds from specific characteristics.

Deliberating choosing to be loyal to someone or stand with them in those moments when times are tough is not something that happens overnight.

Loyalty, as valuable as it is, is incredibly rare and can easily be placed in the wrong hands.

How many times have you given your allegiance to a person or a cause only to realize that your trust has been betrayed and your devotion has been broken?

In a world that is enslaved to wealth and influence, be reminded that some people are loyal to their need of you. Once their need changes, so does their loyalty.

The world is hard enough already. Your relationships should be a place of safety and not a war zone.

Choose wisely and trust your instincts the first time.

For without loyalty, families are broken and friendships are empty.

Give allowance for human weaknesses but set boundaries for respect, regard, consistency and commitment.

Loyalty is demonstrated. If you find it, cherish it, be enthusiastic about it, reciprocate it.

Ultimately, be the person that others trust. Make it easier for that one you call friend to say to you without a shadow of doubt or fear of contradiction;

‘For you, I will’
