Former presidential candidate donates library to Abuja community

Chris Imumolen, presidential candidate of the Accord Party in the 2023 elections, on Saturday, donated a library to Lugbe community in the federal capital territory (FCT), Abuja.

Imumolen, an educationist, said the library was conceived and executed as a contribution towards national development through knowledge and learning.

He said the facility, named after him, is part of his campaign to ensure that underserved communities have access to quality books, which he described as a tool of transformation.

“This library is more than books and shelves, it is a seed of transformation planted in the hearts of our nation,” he said.

“Throughout history, great nations have always been built on the solid foundation of knowledge. No country can rise above the quality of education and information available to its people.

“A library, especially one that is free and accessible to all, is one of the effective tools to democratise knowledge, reduce inequality and empower citizens.”

The facility also contains a sports complex, an incubation room, a restaurant, as well as quarters for visitors, academics, and researchers.
