A team of students from Fountain University, Osogbo, will represent Nigeria at the NextGen Innovation Challenge grand finale in London.

The team, led by Muadh Adekunle Monsuru, a computer science student, was shortlisted from over 3,000 applicants globally to participate in the final stage of the competition.

His teammates are Bello Fawaz Babatunde and Abiola Awwal Olamide.

The students developed PQ-AI, an artificial intelligence-powered educational platform designed to help students prepare more effectively for their studies.

The project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (quality education).

Their journey began at the Fountain University 13th convocation ceremony, where they won the campus-level innovation challenge.

They then proceeded to win the Osun State Innovation Challenge organised by the ministry of science and technology.

Following this, the team presented their project to the minister of science, innovation, and technology at the national level, which paved the way for their selection for the global competition.

Speaking on the achievement, Olayinka Ramota Karim, the university’s vice-chancellor, said the success is a testament to the institution’s commitment to nurturing problem-solvers.

“Muadh and his teammates represent the best of Fountain University’s vision – to raise individuals who are not only academically sound but also equipped to solve real-world problems,” the professor said.

“Their journey from the campus stage to the global stage is a testament to the talent we continue to nurture at Fountain University.”
