Four INEC officials, corps member die in road crash
Four staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a three-year-old girl died in an accident on Ajaokuta–Lokoja road on Saturday.
According to NAN, the corps member was performing his primary assignment at INEC office in Lokoja, Kogi state capital, and the deceased child belonged to one of the INEC officials who died in the accident.
The victims were said to be returning from Ayingba, Kogi, where they attended the wedding ceremony of another INEC official.
Ahmed Biambo, director of voter education and publicity at Kogi office of INEC, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with NAN.
Biambo said that the victims were from the information and communication technology and account departments of the commission.
He said the corpses had been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
