The Abia police command has declared four children of the same parents missing in the Umuagu- Ibeku, Umuahia north LGA of the state.

In a statement on Sunday, Maureen Chinaka, Abia police spokesperson, said the missing children are two boys and two girls, between the ages of seven and two.

“They are Chinweotiti Chimaobi, Nmesomachi Chimaobi, Testimony Chimaobi, and Godswill Chimaobi,” NAN quoted Chinaka as saying in the statement.

She said the parents of the missing children reported the situation to the Ohuhu police divisional headquarters on November 28.

“The children’s mother escorted them to the junction of her street to board an unknown tricycle destined for Great Ambassadors College, Ukaiuga Nkwoegwu, Ohuhu, in Umuahia North LGA,” the statement reads.

“No one escorted or went with them, considering that the eldest is seven years old and the tricyclist is unknown.

“Unfortunately, at the end of the school day, the children did not return home as anticipated.”

Chinaka said the investigation to trace the missing children is still ongoing.

She urged anyone with information that could aid in locating them to promptly report to the nearest police station.
