4 suicide bombers, vigilante die in multiple explosions in Maiduguri

Five persons were killed while eleven others sustained injuries in suicide bomb attacks in three different locations in Maiduguri, Borno state capital on Wednesday morning.

Abdulkadir Ibrahim, spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), North-East, disclosed that the affected areas were Muna Usmanti, Muna Garage and Muna Ethopia.

He said the attacks were carried out around 4:11am.

The dead persons include four of the suicide bombers and a member of the Civilian Joint Task force (JTF).

“We have since taken the injured persons to hospital for proper medical attention while the dead bodies have been deposited in the mortuary,” he said.

He also said the response agencies including emergency workers from Borno State Emergency Agency (BOSEMA) promptly responded to the distress call.
