FRSC and VIO offices attacked, vehicles set ablaze in Lagos

The Ojodu office of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Lagos has been attacked by thugs who set vehicles ablaze.

The FRSC unit in the area shares the same compound with the Vehicle Inspection unit.

Both offices were attacked on Wednesday amid violence engulfing the state.

An unconfirmed number of vehicles were set ablaze while several properties were destroyed.

There have been week-long protests against police brutality across the country.

On Tuesday, security operatives opened fire on unarmed protesters at Lekki tollgate in the state, wounding many, and with some feared dead.

The incident caused an uproar, within and outside the country.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of the state, blamed “forces beyond his direct control” for the attack on #EndSARS protesters.

On Wednesday, violence broke out across the state with killings and destruction of properties.

Police stations, media houses and government offices have been attacked since the violence erupted.
