President Goodluck Jonathan has nominated Mr. Osita Chidoka, the corps marshal of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), as a minister.
Chidoka, who decorated the president as the Grand Patron of the Special Marshals Unit of the FRSC on Wednesday, is expected to represent Anambra State on the federal executive council.
Since the scandal which led to the ousting of Princess Stella Oduah as a minister, Anambra has not had any representative in the cabinet.
The nomination of Chidoka dispels the rumour of Mr. Peter Obi, immediate-past governor of Anambra State, getting a ministerial appointment.
Also nominated was Dr. Suleiman Olanrewaju Abubakar, a lecturer at the University of Abuja.
If cleared by the Senate, Abubakar will be the representative of Kwara State, replacing Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, who was dropped early this year
On Thursday, Senate President David Mark read a letter addressed to the house by Jonathan.
The president sought screening and confirmation of both nominees.
