Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says five persons died and 10 others were injured in a road accident at the NASFAT turning along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Florence Okpe, the spokesperson of the FRSC in Ogun, said the accident occurred at about 9:56 a.m. on Wednesday.

Okpe said the accident involved a Daf truck marked KUT 561 ZZ, a Toyota Hiace bus marked GGE 84 YF and a Man diesel truck without a registration number.

She said the auto crash was suspected to have happened due to the dangerous driving by one of the trucks.

The FRSC spokesperson added that the injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital, Mowe, while the dead were deposited at Idera Hospital morgue in Sagamu, Ogun state.

“A total of 15 persons were involved, which comprised 11 men and four women,” she said.

“Ten were injured (six men and four women) while five persons were killed from the multiple crashes.

Anthony Uga, the FRSC sector commander in the state, cautioned motorists against speed and reckless driving while urging them to drive defensively for safety.
