Parents of children in public primary and secondary schools in Ekiti state have appealed to Ayodele Fayose, governor of the state, to pay the outstanding salaries of teachers.

According to NAN, the parents expressed frustration over the indefinite strike embarked upon by the teachers.

Ajibulu Joshua, a parent, said the strike embarked upon by the teachers had caused setbacks for his children as they no longer read ‎their books.

Foluke Babajide, a civil servant and a parent, urged the state government to listen to the plea of the teachers and pay their salaries.

But Toyin Owolabi, a trader and also a parent, condemned the decision of the teachers to down tools.

She said her children were up to date with payments but were not benefiting from the payment because of the strike.

Owolabi, however, appealed to the state government to accede to the demands of the teachers.
