Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, has dissolved the state pensions board with immediate effect.

The pensions board was inaugurated by Ibok-Ete Ibas, former Rivers sole administrator, on September 12.

In a statement on Friday, Inyingi Brown, head of service, said the office of the accountant-general will take over the board’s responsibilities until a new one is formed.

The announcement, issued in Port Harcourt, directed members of the dissolved board to hand over all assets and documents in their possession to the director of administration.
