FULL LIST: Flamingos invite 30 players for World Cup preparations

The Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday released a list of 30 Flamingos players invited to the under-17 female national team camp.

The camping is part of the team’s preparations for the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup to be held in Morocco.

The invitees, selected by Bankole Olowookere, head coach, is led by Shakirat Moshood, the midfielder who scored four goals at the 2024 U17 World Cup in Dominican Republic.

She is joined by Hannah Ibrahim as the only two players from the previous World Cup.

Olowookere invited four goalkeepers, with nine defenders, midfielders and strikers respectively.

Bayelsa Queens and Imo Strikers contributed the highest number of players with three apiece, while two players each were invites from Remo Stars Ladies, New Generation, Confluence Queens, and Nakamura Football Academy.

Players are expected to arrive camp in Abuja from Sunday, September 7.

The Flamingos were knocked out in the quarter-final stage of the previous tournament but won the Fair Play award.

The 2025 edition will take place from October 17 to November 8.
